And with this issue, I am signing off on this column after 26 years as editor of “New mapping of western North America,” the Information Bulletin’s long-running feature. I took it over in 1996 upon the retirement of Joe Crotts at Chico State; and now as I move to a part-time schedule at the University of Utah, I am turning it over to Kathy Stroud at the University of Oregon. Whether she sends out a monthly email, as I have been doing, will be up to her. She may have other changes in procedure and content in mind as well.
