Planet Labs

Planet Labs flies a fleet of low-earth orbit satellites that provides one image of the land mass and coastal areas per day at 4m. A growing collection of 50cm imagery, and temporal basemaps is also part of the service. Imagery is downloadable directly to GIS software, via API, and using Planet’s own web viewing and analysis tool.

Below is a Planet Story showing the Carrizo Plain in San Luis Obispo County, California during a spring bloom. Early March to mid-May 2023. Right-click to view controls.
