- Please join us for a WAML Editing Party on June 17th, 2026, at 1pm-3pm Central (2pm-4pm Eastern, 12pm-2pm Mountain, 11am-1pm Pacific).
Come spend a relaxed two hours co-working on Zoom with the WAML Communications Committee to tentatively fill in data entries from the Online Guide to U.S. Map Collections. (If we don’t have an easy way to do the data entry by June 17th, we are going to pivot to editing entries for the Map Librarian’s Toolbox and / or compiling suggested WAML Website Edits.) No matter what we end up working on, it will be a great chance to chat about map and GIS librarianship among friends and colleagues. Feel free to stay for as little or long as you’d like.

- MAGIRT/ALA Liaison Report (Kathy Rankin)
- MAGIRT Liaison Report for WAML Executive Board Meeting May 27, 2026
ALA Annual will be held in Chicago on June25-29th. The MAGIRT President’s program will be a basic introduction to map cataloging focusing on scale, projection, and coordinates. The CORE Metadata/MAGIRT cataloging interest group will meet at Annual, and there will be a general membership meeting followed by an Executive Board meeting. They are planning a tour, a dinner following the tour, and possibly an honors award dinner. No one ran for Vice chair/Chair elect of MAGIRT in the recent ALA election. It was possible to write in a name.
Respectfully submitted, Kathy Rankin
